The Winchester SPCA is honored to bring back our Mascot of the Year project! This year, the shelter will host both a canine and feline mascot.

Meet Peppy Manheimer! Peppy was awarded the feline mascot of the year title at our annual meeting which was held in March. Peppy’s professional photoshoot with JGaylor Studio just wrapped up and he’s ready for his debut!

Peppy is a large, fluffy, friendly and playful tabby. One of 7 born to a pregnant teen mom dumped on a local farm 10 years ago. He loves catnip and tormenting his sister cat Lily and to be in the middle of everything. No one can spend any length of time at his house without being forced to acknowledge Peppy – he will make sure of it. His favorite places are next to his mom’s head every night, his cat tree when the sun is shining and the counter on the kitchen island. Peppy will tolerate quite a lot before he has had enough, especially from his canine brothers Oscar and Teddy, whom he adores. He enjoys being nibbled on by the dogs and playing with them, even seeking them out when he wants attention. He is a one-of-a-kind kitty and loved by all.

During his reign as the feline mascot of the year, he will be featured in social media advertising and on the Winchester SPCA webpage throughout 2022. A larger-life-version cut out of Peppy will be featured at the SPCA adoption center and taken to local events and happenings to promote the mission of the Winchester SPCA.
