DESCRIPTION:Amy McFarland loved animals and always dreamed of opening “Amy’s Home” for homeless pets. On June 22, 2023, Amy was hospitalized and admitted to the ICU at UVA Hospital. After numerous complications, she passed away on July 20, 2023.\nTo honor Amy’s legacy of love, kindness, and generosity, her mother, Mary McFarland, has organized Amy’s Walk for Paws—a special fundraiser benefiting the Winchester Area SPCA.\nEvent Details\nWhen: September 12th, 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM\nWhere: Jim Barnett Park – Rotary Club Shelter\n1001 East Cork Street\nWinchester, VA 22601\nThe event is free to attend. Bring your friends and family and join us for an afternoon of community, compassion, and fun—all in support of homeless pets!\nEnjoy live entertainment by Charlee Allman (Golden Ticket winner on American Idol 2023) and her friend Jon. The event will also feature vendors, raffle baskets, and a fun kids’ zone with games and prizes.\nWalk-A-Thon & Sponsorship\nParticipants can take part in the walk-a-thon by registering and inviting friends, family, and supporters to sponsor their walk.
